Jimmy made his Harrogate Town debut as a substitute in a home match against Ilkeston Town in November 2009. A former Mansfield Town trainee, he joined Peterborough United at the start of the 2006/07 season. He was released by Peterborough at the end of the following season, after a loan spell with Rushden & Diamonds. He started the 2008/09 season with Belper Town, before moving on to Buxton after a trial with Macclesfield Town. Jimmy also played for Worksop Town and Parkgate before arriving at the CNG Stadium from Goole.
